MUC – Terminal 2 – Lufthansa Business Lounge (H20) – Airline Lounge Review

Terminal 2, Munich Airport (Flughafen München), Germany

Based on Visit: 10 July 2022 approximately 21:00 to 21:30

Introduction

This is my review of the Lufthansa Business Lounge Terminal 2, next to Gate H20.

This review is based on my trilogy of airlines on my business trip to Brussels – I was connecting in Munich having landed from Brussels, and was en route to Heathrow. Previously, I’d visited the Lounge at K-Gates – but was told I should allow plenty of time to get to H-Gates (where my Heathrow flight was departing). As I detail in that review, this was very good advice!

Whilst K-Gates have entirely Schengen flights transiting – H-Gates are for international flights, which since Brexit, the UK is now regarded as.

As I detail in my review of the flight back to London, this was a rather tight connection, so I didn’t have a huge amount of time in this Lounge.

Entry Conditions

As far as I am aware entry is only for either customers traveling in Business Class, or Star Alliance Gold members.

There is also the ever secretive Senator Lounge attached to this Lounge – but I didn’t have access – nor could I actually see it.

How to Get There

This I am not entirely sure about if you’re coming from Security – but coming from the underground train system, it was up escalators.

Then it was through Passport Control.

Then once through I made a left, and it’s on the corner of a watch shop – close to Gate H20.

Layout

The lounge is reasonable in size, though small for an international lounge. It has a variety of places to eat, sit and work – unlike the lounge in K-Gates, there was also somewhere to sleep!

There is plenty of café seating for eating and drinking – but it was a fairly busy lounge, even on a Sunday evening (or night as it now was)!

Similarly to the K-Gates lounge, one of my favourite features about the Lounge was the ‘pods’ – perfect for working and taking calls.

Each ‘pod’ features variety of charging sockets, privacy screens – and a communal printer!

If you want to have some privacy on calls or work – there is also a ‘phone box’ which has a stool and table, with similar charging sockets. However, there are only around two of these that I could see.

Food and Drink

Drinks

This lounge has a mixture of bar and self-service drinks.

There are beer taps with German beers, and also a separate station for wines and prosecco.

The tea and coffee is also self-service – and again interestingly had the spirits on a shelf next to it!

Food

Food was self-service in this lounge, but there wasn’t a menu for hot dishes. Unfortunately, the self-service buffer was fairly busy and I didn’t get closeups for the offering – I was also pushed for time! It seems that catering did vary to the K-Gates, perhaps (in my view) to the K-Gates favour!

I found for Germany the food still seemed just about OK – which is certainly a compliment!

Wifi

Given my short visit to this Lounge, I didn’t get to use the Wifi.

Showers

There are showers in this lounge, but I didn’t manage to grab any pictures.

Conclusion

This is reasonably sized lounge, but given that Terminal 2 was considered for the A380 – I’d be interested to see how busy this lounge gets!

There was a clear difference between that and K-Gates Lounge (such as the bar), so it seems Lufthansa had stepped up the offering for international travelers.

Let’s hope next time I get to stay longer (and finish the review)!
